The first time someone called me a visual artist was in 2004. I’m an visual artist who expresses herself through photographic language. I have shot as a photo journalist in the independent music scene; I use analog and digital: I look at the world through the lens of a Yashica-TL Electro and a NikonN65 as well as a Canon20D, a Yashica Minitec AF, a Nikon Coolpix L110, my mobile phone, and a HPScanjet G3010. More recently, I’ve focused on public exhibitions and my blog, which includes my poetry and prose. Writing words that have been spoken is the essence of a photograph. I go through my cut-ups; I speak the language: softly or loudly. I’ve read the stories I’ve written. I’m living my life — reading in between the lines of light.
